Sipacate is a small municipality in Guatemala located southwest of the department of Escuintla, apart from being a touristic destination for both locals and international visitors, its beautiful beaches and enchanting landscape makes the destination an attractive place to visit. Along the coastline east from the department, there lies a small and charming village called El Paredon situated in the vicinity of the beach. Throughout the years, the beach has suffered contamination due to lack of waste management mainly caused by national celebrations and holidays that have triggered a pollution alert in the sector, therefore affecting marine wildlife, for example, sea turtles and pink dolphins. But, nevertheless, El Paredon is the perfect place to relish surfing sessions, meet international friends and enjoy beautiful eco-friendly hostels in proximity to the beach.
